Unlocking High-Income Remote Careers: Tech vs. Non-Tech Paths (1)

In your pursuit to become a remote high-income earner, you will need to understand the remote industry and know the basics. As you know there are lots of fields where remote services are needed.

Generally, remote jobs are classified into two (2):

1. Tech Remote Jobs: The tech remote job simply means you need to learn some core IT skills to be able to carry them out. You will need to learn some programming languages, which can range from  Python, Linux, Ruby,  Go, etc. You would be expected to create new IT products or strengthen the products on the ground.

I know some people don’t like programming at all. In fact, I fussed out in college when learning programming, as I couldn’t understand why so many letters and numbers could not be written in simple English.

But guess what, if you have a good tutor, and if you are willing to learn practically, then surely you can learn programming. It is not hard, once you get the handle.

Examples of remote tech disciplines are: Cloud Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Software Development/Engineering, Mobile App Development, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI model development, Large language development, etc.

Fields where these skills and roles are used is what we call Tech Careers.

Remember that the above tech remote jobs refer to Information Technology remote jobs. Not technologies outside Information Technology such as Renewable Energy, Solar/Inverter systems, Power Engineering, Robotics and Automation, NeuroTechnology, Space Exploration, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, and Cloud Seeding just to mention a few. Eventhough, some of these technologies can depend on or partly use Information Technology, they are different and most jobs in those fields are not remote jobs.

2. Non-Tech Remote Jobs: This is the second category of remote jobs, they tend to support services that rely on IT i.e. not creating new IT products but using tech or cloud apps to carry out their daily functions.

Fields where these skills or roles are used is what we call Digital Careers.

Persons who carry out these functions, don’t need programming skills, nor core I.T skills, in as much as they know how to operate the computer. They are good to go. However, they will need a soft skill in the area they desire e.g

Remote Salesperson, Virtual Assistant, Remote Customer Representative, Graphic Designer, Online Tutor, Ghost Writing, Marketing Assistant, Social Media Manager, Online Recruiter etc. Those are areas you can build a digital career.

If you observe, these above roles need a skill you must have been good at in the first place. Either you do them in traditional workplaces or you use them online. However, you can as well learn them to enhance your market value in the World’s remote marketplace.
